After our interview with Social Studies department chair Ms. Shroeder,we came to the conclusion that she was a Theory Z manager. She uses both Theory X and Y which makes her a Theory Z. She is open to the idea of others and listens to everyone, but at the same time she has the final word in what happens.

We interviewed Mrs. Townsend and Mr. Pinnley. They are theory Y managers. They like to keep their employees happy by keeping them informed and praising them for their accomplishments. Golden Rule applys to them.

Mr. Baima is deffinately a Theory Y mangager. He stated many times that the best way to get results from any worker is to give them the freedom to work and enjoy their work. He also said that the main responsibility of any manager is to keep his/her employees happy and motivated to produce the best quality as well as quantity of results. Work should be flexible, ask for volunteers or approach people who would reflect well on a task rather than designating random assignments. Be humble about you work and keep your spirits high. Micromanaging should only be used when necessary and trust should be given to everyone upon introduction. Trust should be given at once and not necessarily earned, but it should be worked at in order to keep that level of respect. Feedback is an important and useful tool for any manager.

After talking to MS. SHROEDER, our group concluded that she was a theory z manager. Ms. Schroeder incorporated her staff in decision making processes and listened to their input. One way she did this was by holding department meetings and encouraging her staff to share their ideas and improvements. However, she did have the final say in matters which indicated a theory x ideology as well.

When we say golden rule, we mean they treat others as they would like to be treated. They took many classes to be teachers and applied to be department chairs. They often decentralize the decision making proccess to have a more democratic workplace.

After the interview we had with the Social Studies department chair Mrs. Shroeder, we decided that she was a Theory Z manager. While interviewing her she showed a lot of the leadership qualities that you would think a Theory X manager had, but she talked a lot about how she really values the input of her employees. But like Theory Y she likes seeing the creative things her staff comes up with, but she gives them the guidelines in which to do it. You can tell as a manager she likes to have control of the situation, but she also likes to give her staff some of the freedom to see what creative ways they can interpret what she sets them out to do.

Mr. Teschner is definitely a theroy Y manager. He assumes that all employees are ambitious, self-motivated, anxious to accept greater responsibility, and exercise self-control. They also are hard working and ready to take on new challenges and reach new goals and he trusts them to do so. He beleives in constant communication and he has a lot of in-season daily meetings. He follows a few guidlines of being professional, open, and honest. He makes sure that his staff is on task with practice schedules and reviewing them. His staff is recongnized throughout the organization as a coach. He looks for results and respect in his staff and he motivates them by allowing them to self-motivate themselves through their team.

We interviewed Dr. Scott the Principal of Fremd. She is a Theory Z manager. She is theory x manager and uses centralization when it comes to an emergency situation. On the other hand she is theory y manager and uses decentralization when it comes to letting employees design a curriculum. She also gives some freedom to the department heads when making decisions. At the same time she is theory x manager, because the final decision is always hers.

We interviewed Dr. Scott, the principal of Fremd High School. She is very organized and has a lot of meetings with her staff. She trys to provide the right resource to her staff. The teachers should connect themselves with the students, is her way of giving an impact to the community. Dr. Scott is a good leader.

We interviewed Mr. Creiger, he definetly was a theory Y manager. He likes to think of his suboordinates as a team, that he is a part of. He said that he likes to apply the golden rule to all of his employees by treating them like he wants them to treat him. He also said that he would never expect his suboordeinates to do something he won't or can't do first.

We interviewed Mr. Creiger. Mr. Creiger is a theory Y teacher. All the question we asked him, he answered with some kind of sporty answer. The team aspect is really important to him. He said that the team builds off of each other and share ideas. He lives by the Golden Rule and shows respect to everyone but still is in charge.

After interviewing Mr. Creiger, I believe he is a theory Y manager. He compared his department to a team and the team makes decisions together. He thought the best way to manage his subordinates was by treating eachother with respect as professionals. This goes along with the golden rule which was the biggest principle he followed. Also, he said that each teacher relies on eachother like a team and they can't let eachother down.
